Hey guys! alright well yet again I'm here to blog about the exciting adventures we are having in the big citayyyy and let me just say....its friday friday gettin down on friday. I'm not looking forward to the weekendddddd.( I have to memorize our one minute scenes by monday and a shakespeare monologue by tuesday and my whole showcase piece by friday....) So today we received our Showcase roles and did our first read through. there are 5 pieces in all. each of them is around 15 to 20 minutes long for a total showcase of about 1 hour 30 minutes. Jake and Aleyse got paired up in a piece just the two of them! funny enough! haha they have to kiss!!! ooOOOOoOOo!! cooties!!!! haha. and I received a fairly large role in a piece of about 8 people. we have a large group scene and then we pair up into two person scenes and in my 15 minute piece i get to say about 40 lines. so that's pretty sick. After class we went to Shake Shack with our new friends (S/O to Julie, Kyra, Abbie, and Hannah!). Here is but SOME of the adventures had today....
Shake shack was watching us!!!

I can see clearly now...

This was the commercial before the movie we just saw...

Also throughout the day we went to several box offices t scout out ticket prices..tried to win the Newsies lottery....saw a movie....ate soft serve fruit. almost threw up...and many other delightful stories :) miss and love you guys!

Howdy guys! lemme just start off by saying thank you so much for  reading my blog and giving positive feedback! it means so much to me that ya'll care! alright so today was a little different than the past couple. basically, Mondays we have scene analysis ten to one, lunch, games from 2-3:30 and then Shakespeare from 3:45 till 5. Thursdays are the same but instead of Shakespeare at the end we have on camera. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays however we have movement, repetition, lunch,  speech and voice and then we alternate between either on camera or Shakespeare. so today we had scene analysis first from ten to one. it takes, forever!!! but that's the meat and potatoes of what we are learning, that is the class that teaches the actual technique. its scene analysis / technique overview which means we get to talk about how to break a scene down but also do exercises that use the things we are learning in voice and repetition to help us understand our objectives and things like that which is actually way cool. then we had lunch, and to cool off after analysis, improv/ games! yay! it was really fun :) we got to do silly musical chair games but also had several hilarious improv scenes. then finally, we had Shakespeare. we all love the teachers of all three classes but we particularly love the shakespeare teacher. he is SO down to earth and cool and also hes really passionate, which is good :)haha. in shakespeare we discussed the prologue of Romeo and Juliet (shout out to Riley!) and what it meant and what words to stress and stuff like that. then we walked home and me and Leysey stopped into this place i found while here last year called "Soft Serve Fruit"....its heavenly, and got some treats. then headed home to chill out. we haven't been doing much after school and stuff simply because we are just absolutely exhausted after a 7 hour day. here is a photo for all you visual people out there of us all just hanging out after school.
Tomorrow we have Ensemble day. thats the day we really just work on the showcase and rehearse and stuff like that. we find out our parts tomorrow ....sjfhowqie hfowefhsnackjnsxijhfuwhfsc I'm so nervous!!!! Wish us many a broken leg!! love you all!

Look at adorable little aleyse asleep after a long day <3
Howdy ya'll! alright so day 3 .....just got REAL.we started off with a trip to...you guessed it ! The SUBWAY!!! wooooohooo!! so exciting! shout out to momma for getting these pictures as we were on the way to the subway and whilst down in the subway :

then the day itself started off much like yesterday with movement! we had to do some stretching and things of that nature and then we started doing some interesting things together with partners. Me and Leysey teamed up for one of the exercises and it was super fun :) then we had repetition which was ...interesting....its honestly not my favorite class as of right now but im very excited for all the possibilities for the future :) also the teacher made this FANTASTIC metaphor today about discovering yourself. he made us get up and go out into the hallway to look at the exit sign. and when we got back in the room he said "  now what shape was the exit sign? " to which we responded "Square" he then asked " what color of light was the sign giving off?" which to we answered "Red." he said "Exactly....its not red, for one guys. the light itself is white. it has a red filter over it though that makes it appear red to us, the audience. you are the light. you have to understand the light itself and how it shines before you can understand your character, the filter  once you understand yourself your character will follow " which is possibly the best quote ever. then we had speech and voice and that class is SOOO CHILLLLLL she basically just has us lay down on our yoga mats and like tells us stuff to do to make our voices supple and lithe and expand our lungs. WAYYY CHILL. then we had acting on the camera which was awesome today we talked about the analysis of our monologues with the class and the teacher is just soo quirky and fun. then ...the nervous stuff...auditions....we basically had to get up in front of four casting directors and the entire ensemble and do our prepared monologues so that the directors can cast us for the ensemble showcase. so...yeah...but good news. WE ALL DID FANTASTIC!!!! everyone was very good and me and jake and leyse are all so excited !!! love you guys!

Alright guys so today I'm gonna really try to detail what we did in class because unfortunately...I mean, we aren't doing new stuff every day so I can't get pictures for everything but today we started with movement. It was very interesting. a mix of dance, yoga, games and stuff. she had us writhing around on the floor like a snake ( a little too mountain view for us but, we went along with it ). then she had us do this thing where we got a partner and had to move with them and in relationship to them without touching them which was cool because we had to focus our bodies and pay attention. it was very energetic! then we had repetition. Ol Sandy Meisner!! ;) the teacher was cool but he was a little ...tooooo chill. He wanted us to tell our names and the most embarrassing moments in our life. hahaha which was cool cuz it was about honesty! but like at the same time...he seemed to be really interested in the SKILL. It seemed like he didn't want to teach us this skill to help us to perform better but just to teach us the skill itself. that's not to say he didn't care about us but, its the 2nd day :) then we had lunch and we met a couple new friends :) then we had voice and speech which was a little bit like movement. we really focused on breathing and how we make sound and how breath permeates everything that we do in speech and stuff like that. although the teacher was kind of an odd ball... she had some good exercises to share with us :) the we had Shakespeare study which was probably my favorite class of the day. the teacher was very straight up and real with us and he seemed like he really cared about us as people and really wanted us to like Shakespeare but wasn't gonna force us into anything. Then we headed to shake shack for some good eats and headed home :) we just chillennnnnnnn
